We are seeking volunteers for the 2018-19 ice rink season.

1. Rink Volunteer Coordinator

Prior to the opening of the rink (late November): Develop a schedule for rink and rink shack attendants. Update rink rules and make sure everyone is aware of them and what to do if rules are not observed. Develop a list of rink maintenance volunteers with their contact information and times and days available if needed.

Once the rink is open: Periodically visit rink and rink shack. Find substitute attendants if someone can’t do their shift. Be available to assist if attendant needs help.

If you are interested, please email Anita at

2. Rink and Rink Shack Attendants:

Time commitment: 3 hour shift once a week (less if we get enough volunteers). Shifts of either 4 to 7 p.m. or 7 to 10 p.m. This would be an ideal role for someone planning to skate at the same time. If this task has appeal but you are unable to commit to a regular shift we would also appreciate people offering to act as a substitute when the scheduled attendant is unable to make it. Likewise, if the proposed 3 hour shift is more than you are able to do, let us know the hours you can do and we will see if we can match you with someone else to complete a shift.

4:00 to 7:00 p.m.: Open the Rink Shack next to the rink so skaters can change into skates and warm up. Observe skaters on both rinks to ensure safe and respectful use and that all users are following posted rink rules.

7:00 to 10:00 p.m. Observe skaters on both rinks to ensure safe and respectful use by everyone and that all users are following posted rink rules. Lock up the Rink Shack at 10:00 p.m.

1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Additional shift on Saturdays and Sundays

Volunteers can respectfully ask anyone to leave who is not observing the posted rink rules or they can contact the designated Board contact for assistance. If necessary they can even call EPS if appropriate.

If this position has appeal, please reply directly to Bob at

3. Rink Maintenance Assistants:

Time commitment: A couple of hours a week depending on the weather and how much the rink is used.

Assist our rink man with maintaining the ice, so scraping, flooding and clearing snow. We have a company contracted to make the ice this year so assistants will not need to help with the initial rink set up.

If this position has interest, please email Anita at
