Avonmore Community Meeting

Agenda items include updates from the City of Edmonton and the Community League on topics including: LRT construction, parking, transit, crime prevention, building a stronger community through getting to know you neighbours and how the community can be influence development.

EPS Presentation on Community Safety at Pancakes in the Park: All information presented by the Edmonton Police Service can be found on this web site, Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design. It contains a lot of good information on home and property safety. 

Neighbourhood Watch. We are in the process of forming a Neighbourhood Watch group. Resident Natasha Holmkvist has agreed to be the key contact and Andrea Schmidt will assist her. Email if you are interested in helping. 

Parent & Tot Program. This FREE drop-in program runs weekly and will resume mid-September. Watch the Facebook page and this web site for more details. We do a mix of outside/inside play activities and arts and crafts. Our group has a mix of small babies and toddlers so there is someone for everyone to play with.  

Tool Library. As a pilot project, Avonmore Community League has purchased a one year membership to the Edmonton Tool Library. With this membership, our community league members can now access the library's tools at no charge. They are open Saturday afternoons only.

The library is located at the north end of Gretzky Drive, at 7308 - 112 Ave.

Please be aware that this is a pilot project. If you use the library, please send a quick email to our director-at-large, Bob Raynard. If there is interest and the tool library is being used, we will consider renewing our membership. 

Avonmore Book Club. Starting in mid September a new Book Club will launch as a “Group” under the Avonmore Community League page. Watch for details here and on the Avonmore Community League Facebook page or contact Anita at
